About Our Pastor
Our Pastor, Reverend Jim Hill came to the ministry as a second career
after working in Production and Inventory Control in the manufacturing
sector. Reverend Jim achieved his Bachelor of Business Degree from
U-W-Milwaukee and then his Master of Divinity Degree from Garrett
Evangelical Seminary (United Methodist) in Evanston, Illinois in 1978.
While attending seminary, Reverend Jim served as part-time youth
minister at Emmanuel U.C.C. in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. He also worked
part-time as a psychiatric aide at the former Lutheran Hospital in
Milwaukee.
Reverend Jim was called as our minister and began his ministry with
us May 19, 1978. He is an effective preacher, a positive thinker and
shares a creative and joyous spirit with us.
Reverend Jim has served in a variety of ministries including:
- Wisconsin Conference Evangelism Team
- Southeast Wisconsin Lay, Life, Leadership Team
- Hartford Hospital Volunteer Chaplains
- Adult Children of Alcoholics Groups
- Washington County Hospice
- Boys & Girls Club – of Jackson
- Citizen Advocacy
- Friends of Abused Families
- Social Services – Placement Review
- Washington County Jail Chaplain
Reverend Jim is married (happily) to Sandi Brunette-Hill (Professor
of Sociology – UWWC) and they are proud parents of Katie Zirbes and
Brydie Hill. They are very proud grandparents of Toby and Anna Hernandez and
Maggie and Blake Zirbes. Reverend Jim enjoys creative writing, classical music, and
chocolate fudge. |
