Our Ministries :
Women's Fellowship Team
History
Originally there
were three Ladies Aides, one in each of the three UCC churches of
Jackson. When we merged, we had one Fellowship for the three groups.
At the time New Hope UCC was built in 1995, New Hope Fellowship was
formed.
Goals and Mission
Our goal is to
assist all men and women in the church to grow to full stature as mature
Christians; to develop and coordinate programs which will deepen and
strengthen their Christian witness and to encourage participation in the
life of the church.
Members
All women of the
church are members of New Hope Fellowship.
Activities
The women sponsor a Salad Luncheon
in April, help organize the Pork Chop Dinner in September and the Craft
and Bake sale in December. Members are also involved in making baby
quilts to be presented to babies at their baptism. During 2002 there
were 15 quilts presented to babies.
The Women’s Fellowship meets on
the fourth Thursday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the church. The
meeting consists of a devotion and business meeting.
Donations made to the following organizations during 2002:
- Oktoberfest Pork Chop Dinner
- Friends of Abused Families
- Lakeland College
- Ventures in People
- Boys and Girls Club of Washington County
