Our Ministries:
Financial Resources Team
Mission
In our church the word stewardship is directly
linked to the phrase spiritual health. By this we mean that the primary
focus of stewardship is to promote a sense of Christian community and
caring among all members. In gratitude for such an important ministry,
our people are financially generous in the support of various missions
and ministries as a church centered in Christ's hope and glory.
Responsibilities
Consecration Sunday: Consecration
Sunday is the first Sunday of November. Congregation members are asked
to pledge their financial commitment to the church for the upcoming
year. Each giving unit of the church is mailed a pledge card with a
letter outlining the importance of this pledge for the upcoming year.
The pledge card asks the member for the amount to be given. During the
Consecration Sunday service, the congregation is asked to bring forth
the pledge cards to present to God. For those families that did not
return their cards, a follow up letter is mailed encouraging them to
make a commitment and return the card. For the 2003 budget year, the
church has approximately 175 giving units, of which about 80 of those
units returned their pledge cards.
Ongoing Giving:
During the year the Stewardship team finds positive ways to encourage
members to contribute to the ongoing welfare of the church. This
includes creating Giving Summary graphs, distributing proactive articles
and making it easier for people to give. One of the ways that we
encourage people to give is through direct deposit to the church's
financial accounts. With this payment method you don't even have
to write a check. If you would like to enroll in direct deposit,
fill out the
Automatic Deposit Form (.PDF document) and drop it in the offering
plate at church. If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact any one of the Stewardship members.
