Music Ministry Team
Goals &
Mission
The Music Ministry at New Hope is dynamic! Our Chancel Choir
sings the same music as the top choirs in the country. We have
sung in different languages and from various musical styles, including:
classical, rock, jazz, bluegrass, and country. The Choir sings on
the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, except when special events or
holidays occur on other Sundays.
The 2nd Sunday of each month is generally reserved for our recently
organizing Praise Group, known as "Sonflower."
"The Rev" along with various
singers from the Choir, Sonflower currently includes Lee Bateman on
percussion, John Pearce on 12 string guitar, and Steve Kohler on guitar.
Solos, duets, and other ensembles usually perform on the 4th Sunday
of each month, along with the Children's Choir. The Children's
Choir is currently under the direction of Janice Schmidt.
